In 2022, Summer Hoyt was granted the opportunity to design and create a innovative mural for the City of Carlisle’s North City Park. Due to the nature of the structure of the building, more was needed for the design of the project than simply to paint the images onto the facade. Each image is painted on extira exterior panels in order to withstand the elements, and installed directly into the masonry walls. The city’s motto is “The Natural Choice” and the theme of the mural is to reflect that the natural resources, primarily plants and animals, that residents can expect to see at the park. On July 4th, 2023 a ribbon cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the mural’s completion.
